Chirp, hiss, buzz, whirr are the sounds of the noisy nighttime insect symphony from cicadas, crickets, katydids, and more. But what about the silent moths and flickering fireflies? Join us as we dive into the mysterious world of nocturnal insects. Learn about the biodiversity of insects found at night, why their populations are declining, and how that affects other animal populations. We will use nets to sweep for specimens as well as set up UV lights to draw in and observe insects. This workshop is for all grades. Supplemental classroom materials provided.
