Discover practical ways to take learning outdoors and engage students through nature‑based investigations using Illinois woodland habitat and the species that call it home. This workshop introduces simple field activities, observation strategies, and classroom connections that support NGSS for PreK–6 learners but can easily be adapted for other grades. Participants will receive adaptable lessons and resources to help make the outdoors an extension of their everyday teaching. Ideal for teachers looking to strengthen environmental literacy and bring place-based learning into their curriculum. Supplemental classroom resources will be provided. Professional Development Hours are available. Sponsored by the IDNR, this workshop is part of the ENTICE (Environment and Nature Training Institute for Conservation Education) program.
